Dublin City Council: Enhancing Competitive Dublin Excerpt from Article: International Purchasing and Supply Magazine A pilot scheme was set up in 2004 in the Waterworks Store to handle online request for quotations for stock items not currently on contract. This has led to the implementation of E-HUB; an applicationsuite developed by First Derivatives. The system has proven to be a major money saving opportunity for the Council. We are planning to examine the possibility of including additional suppliers from outside the Dublin area to attempt to achieve more savings on our stores purchases. We have been very pleased with the results and we are surprised that more Local Authorities in the country haven't implemented E-HUB. We are currently saving some 28% on the cost of these items.
